Our exclusive Music for Modern Worship workshop is an opportunity to see first-hand
how to start Contemporary worship in your church. With just a few dedicated musicians
and a lot of prayer, it is possible to create a Music Ministry that will enhance the faith walk
of the congregation. Music is a valuable component to worship, and there are many
ways to utilize it to the congregation’s advantage.
You don’t need to have members who can play instruments, you just need members with an eagerness to learn. In the
beginning, groups will morph until the group gels. They may even split apart and form separate groups. The most important
factor is to be appreciative and supportive of your volunteers. They are the backbone of your music ministry, and God is the
body. You don’t have to be a church with a large membership base or a large budget; you can start with an acoustic guitar and
work your way up. You can have fund-raisers to earn money for equipment. The purpose of this workshop is to share with you
things we learned that can save you a lot of time and energy in getting your contemporary Music Ministry started.
Class topics include: Starting a Music Ministry, Songwriting for Contemporary Worship, Choosing the Right P.A. for Your
Church, The Art of Leading a Group, Traditional Choir as a Contemporary Instrument, Role of the Acoustic Guitar, and many
more. In addition to Wellspring's Music Ministry, we will have on hand sound expert Reginald Dillard from Coda music / Alpha
music and Everette Collins from Music Makers.
