Cross Purposes started over 15 years ago at Wellspring United Methodist Church. What started out to be a group to facilitate a second worship service grew to be a musical outreach Ministry. The group's members are from all walks of life, but together they become of one purpose: to let people know of their love for the Lord and what He means in their lives.
Cross Purposes has played at the Hampton Coliseum, the Virginia Beach Pavilion, William and Mary, Hampton University, as well as many churches, civic functions, and annual appearances at Williamsburg's First Night. They have performed in other parts of Virginia as well as other states on the eastern seaboard. They have made appearances on television, including an appearance on WVEC Channel 13 advertising Williamsburg's First Night.
One thing everyone agrees on is that they come away from every concert feeling uplifted! They are part of a music ministry that is Spirit led, not performance based. It is obvious through their witness and their music how much they love the Lord.
Cross Purposes is a contemporary Christian band under the leadership of Gail Scullion, Music Director of Wellspring. For information on having Cross Purposes come to your church or special function, please email Gail or call her at 757-229-5558 or 757-254-4570.
